Oooo Shiny! Nail Art Contest Submission

I was browsing /r/redditlaquristas and saw a nail art contest hosted by Oooo Shiny!
It had to be a socially engaged manicure, so I decided to do a manicure based on tolerance and coexistence of all religions and walks of life.

"COEXIST = Love and Peace"

"C" is the Muslim religious symbol, The Crescent moon and Star.
"O" is the Pagan/Wiccan religious symbol, The Pentagram.
"E" is not religious but E=mc2, FOR SCIENCE!
"X" is the Start Of David, for the Jewish religion.
"I" ...well the 'dot' on the 'I' is a Buddhist lifestyle symbol, the Dharmachakra.
"S" is the Yin-Yang.
"T" is the Christian religious symbol, The Cross.

The "=" is to represent equality of all peoples, genders, and sexual preferences.

Then, of course, we have the colors. The colors resemble all of the different spectrums of people and lifestyles of the world. The colors do not correspond with the religions, however, the black and white mean that love and peace are in-fact "black and white issues" (either you love or do not love, same with peace).

Anyways, vote for me please!!!! <--- click that

A shiny new era is tip-toeing nearer

I have done a few blogs in the past, mostly for venting, but then I stop updating or I get bored. However, I think this blog will be different. I know what I want to post about...a set theme if you will.... nails.

I used to be a really bad nail-biter. I have had major anxiety worry/stress issues all my life, and since I was a little girl I have always wanted longer painted nails but was too stressed to stop biting. Now I am 26 and my high anxiety, while still present, is no longer as huge of an issue due to a big lifestyle (you may contact me and hear my story). One day I decided to keep putting polish on my nails, even if I had to put on a new coat everyday, polish would not leave my tips. For a whole month I kept my manicures up and BAM! NAILS!

It's been a journey of knowing I have the power and the will to change things I don't like about myself and to stop worrying about what other people think.

So enough of this "knowing who I am" stuff... let's paint some nails!
